Most CV advice stops at "use action verbs and add numbers". That is correct and it is not enough, because the hard part is knowing which numbers matter in your trade. Below, each role gets a summary you can adapt and three bullets that show the shape a strong one takes.

The pattern behind all five

Every strong bullet below is the same sentence: verb + what you did + the scale + the result. "Delivered" is a duty. "Delivered 40–60 parcels a day across Sharjah with a 99.2% on-time rate over two years" is evidence. If you cannot find a number, use a scale instead — how many people, how many sites, how big a budget, how often.

1. Driver / delivery

Summary

Light-vehicle driver with 6 years in the UAE and a clean licence since 2019. Familiar with Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman routes, RTA rules and Salik processing. Employment visa, transferable, 30 days notice.

  • Completed 45–60 last-mile deliveries per shift across Dubai and Sharjah; maintained a 99.2% on-time rate across 2023–2025.
  • Drove 180,000 km with zero at-fault accidents and no traffic fines in three years.
  • Handled COD collections averaging AED 4,500 per day and reconciled them daily with no shortfall.

Licence class, the emirates you know, vehicle types driven and your accident record are the four things a transport manager looks for. Put the licence in the header, not buried in a skills list.

2. Accountant

Weak

"Responsible for handling accounts and daily bookkeeping duties. Assisted with month-end. Good knowledge of accounting software and MS Office."

Strong

"Owned the full accounts payable cycle for 140 suppliers in Tally ERP 9 and QuickBooks; reduced invoice-to-payment time from 21 days to 9 by batching approvals weekly."

  • Closed monthly accounts for three entities within 5 working days, down from 12.
  • Filed quarterly VAT returns for a AED 18m turnover business with no penalties in 4 years.
  • Rebuilt the bank reconciliation process in Excel, cutting a two-day task to three hours.

Name the software explicitly — Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, SAP FICO, Xero — because that is what recruiters type into the search box. State your qualification status honestly: "ACCA (F1–F9 passed, finalist)" is stronger than an ambiguous "ACCA".

3. Sales

Summary

B2B sales executive with 5 years selling facilities-management contracts to hotels and offices in the UAE. Consistently 110%+ of an AED 2.4m annual target. Arabic (conversational), English, Urdu.

  • Grew a territory from AED 1.1m to AED 2.6m in 24 months by shifting focus from one-off jobs to annual maintenance contracts.
  • Closed 38 new accounts in 2025 at an average contract value of AED 62,000.
  • Cut the sales cycle from 11 weeks to 7 by introducing a standard site-survey template.

Sales is the one field where the numbers are the CV. Give target versus achieved, territory size, deal size and retention. If you inherited a bad territory, say what it was worth when you arrived.

4. Engineer

Summary

Mechanical (HVAC) engineer, 8 years across commercial fit-out and hospitality projects in Abu Dhabi and Doha. Led design and site supervision on projects up to AED 40m. Society of Engineers UAE registered; degree attested.

  • Supervised HVAC installation across a 320-key hotel; handed over 3 weeks ahead of programme.
  • Redesigned chilled-water pipe routing on a AED 40m fit-out, saving AED 610,000 in materials.
  • Managed 4 subcontractors and 45 site staff; closed 210 snag items before final handover.

Engineers should add a short Projects section: project name, value, your role, dates. Recruiters screen on project value and sector far more than on your degree classification. Include professional registration and whether your certificates are attested.

5. Teacher

Summary

Secondary mathematics teacher, 7 years across the British and CBSE curricula. Taught IGCSE and A-Level to classes of 28. KHDA-approved; PGCE (UK); enhanced background check current to 2027.

  • Raised IGCSE Mathematics A*–C from 71% to 88% over three cohorts by adding weekly targeted intervention sessions.
  • Led a department of 5 teachers; wrote and rolled out a new Year 9 scheme of work.
  • Ran an after-school STEM club that grew from 12 to 60 students in one year.

Curriculum is the first filter for international-school hiring, so name it — British, American, IB, CBSE, MoE. Then examination results, class sizes, year groups, and your teaching licence or KHDA / ADEK approval status.

Before you send any of these

Change the numbers to your own. A recruiter who has seen four CVs claiming a 99.2% on-time rate will notice the fifth, and an invented figure collapses the moment it comes up in interview. Use the structure, not the statistics.
